Fall seems to be the time of year when we are the busiest. Pumpkin patches, birthday's, Fall Parties, and this year we threw in a little vacation time.
We started the month off with a trip to the Pumpkin Patch with our playgroup. We wanted to get the dad's together to meet so it was more of a dad day with the babies.
In the middle of the month Joey and I flew out to the West Coast to make up for our missed trip we were supposed to do back in June. For as tired as he was he was still very good on the plane. He entertained himself and made friends with the people around us.
When we got to Seattle, my friend Jen picked us up and we went to brunch and walked around Jen's neighborhood.
On Monday, we went to lunch with a childhood friend of mine, Jake Zborowski and his daughter Clara. I didn't get a picture of our lunch date but it was so great seeing Jake and meeting his daughter. It was like we just saw each other yesterday.
In the afternoon we met up with my other friend Jenn and her daughter Avery. We took the babies to the mall and let them play around their really cool play area. Joey was so excited to not be strapped into a car seat or his stroller. He loved being let loose to do whatever he wanted to do. It was so great spending time with Jenn and Avery!
Monday night Joey and I started our drive to Idaho. It was a long drive and we had snow through Snoqualmie Pass. We made it to Pendleton, OR (5hrs) where we spent the night. The next morning we got up and hit the road again. We hit more snow through the Blue Mountains right outside of Pendleton. I'm so glad we stayed the night and drove through this mountain pass in the day time. Joey slept for 2 of the 3 hours of our journey.
That afternoon we went and saw Great-Grandpa Ron and Great-Grandma Carolyn. Joey had a great time playing with Grandma and Grandpa. He fell asleep the five minutes it took us to go from their house to my dad's house.
That night we hung out with Grandpa Monty and played in the kitchen towel drawer.
On Wednesday we went and had lunch with Aunt Courtney and then had family over to do a small pre-Birthday Party for Joey.
Joey got to have alone time with Grammy.
Joey found a new drawer that he needed to go through.
He found what he wanted. Grammy's measuring spoons.
Joey hadn't seen daddy all week. He was more interested in Skyping with daddy than he was his cake.
On Thursday we got up and drove back to Seattle. A little over an hour out of town we had to pull over due to ice being on the mountain pass. So, we stopped in Baker where Grammy and Great Grammy (Janice's mom) were. It was nice to stop and wait it out. We got back on the road around 11am. Joey slept for a couple hours so I was able to get over the pass and into the Tri-Cities before having to pull over to feed him and let him stretch his legs a bit.
It was a very long day for us (12 hours) but Joey was amazing!! He only started to really be done with the drive about an hour outside of town. When we got back to my friend John's house, he couldn't be happier to get out of the car and play with Elizabeth.
Friday morning Elizabeth and Joey watch Cinderella.
And then we went to the Market with Jen.
We took Joey into a toy store while we waited to meet up with the Hunt's and John and Elizabeth for our last night in Seattle dinner.
I'm so glad we got to get out to the West Coast to see everyone. Joey is such a good travel buddy. He did so well on the plane and on our car ride to Idaho. He was such a little trooper!!
When we got home Joey needed to explore. We came home to new carpet in the TV room and a new entertainment center.
This was Joey's first Halloween. Here he is with his cousins.
